Singapore-based watch manufacturers BOLDR Supply Company is set to release a fresh line-up of tough dive watches in the Odyssey model series, named the Odyssey Freediver. While previous Odyssey models are renowned for their robustness and chunky fit, the Odyssey Freediver sports a sleeker design with a comfortable 40mm fit for average-to-smaller sized wrists.
SINGAPORE: After months of anticipation, the brand new Odyssey Freediver has finally arrived with a splash. Each piece in this new line-up of divers carries a redefined 40mm case design that sets it apart from its chunky predecessors. Smaller in size but tougher than ever, the Odyssey Freediver is the first of its kind and will set the design tone for future Odysseys to come.
A watch of many ‘firsts’, the Freediver is also the first BOLDR timepiece to possess a full 316L metal bracelet with a quick release spring bars, along with a refined case detailed with a polished strip to accentuate its angular lugs. The dive-friendly unidirectional bezel is made from high quality ceramic, known for its ability to withstand scratches and long-lasting nature.
The inspiration for this series was born from the discipline, bravery, and sheer will of freedivers who push their bodies to the limit for the love of their sport. Mastering the scrupulous technique of breathholding takes an ample amount of patience and perseverance - qualities that the brand highly resonates with. As with most of their creations, The Odyssey Freediver was built with the help of fan feedback from previous Odysseys, a hallmark of the brand’s creative process. Breathing new life into BOLDR’s tough diver-watch range, the svelte 40mm case fits a wider range of wrists and is rated for 300m water resistance. Each stylish dial design is crafted to be highly legible underwater with clearly marked indexes and luminescent hands, shielded by a flat sapphire crystal lens.
The case is solid 316L stainless steel complete with a screw-down crown to prevent any water from seeping in. The watch is powered by a Miyota 9015 automatic movement, delivering precise timekeeping at every tick. The custom caseback depicts a Kraken, a symbol of the mystery of the deep blue and how every diver has to face the fear of the unknown.
