Voyage Antarctic

As muscular as it is functional, the Voyage series is dedicated to countless fans requesting for a 40mm diver-daily beater-casual wrist beast that goes with everything, in virtually any environment.

If you're wondering why that good-looking dial looks so familiar, that's because it took design cues from its ancestor, the brass BOLDR Voyager! Now discontinued, this watch is our little tribute to that timeless trooper's glory days.

Packing in a host of other sturdy features such as the high dome 'box' sapphire crystal, sapphire exhibition case back with custom artwork, and a sleek bracelet with 3 micro-adjustment folded clasps finished a streak of line art. The line symbolizes a steady stream of daily efforts, trickling down and slowly leading to favorable results. It is taken from an old Chinese proverb.

Craving a new adventure? Bon Voyage!

This might just be the best affordable GADA watch that I’ve worn. The turquoise dial and faux patina hour markers and hands work well together, and the orange-tipped seconds hand gives it an added pop. I really like the brushed bezel and top hat sapphire crystal for everyday durability. The big crown is easy to operate, and the bracelet is high quality and easy to size due to ******* links. It looks great on a curved end rubber strap as well. Bravo BOLDR!

Outstanding field watch

Great watch for the money. The dial is absolutely stunning and despite its size and thickness it still wears quite well.

Far better than its price

I love field watches. Everything from authentic (and very small) World War Two originals to modern pieces inspired by them, but with vastly upgraded specs. The Voyage Antarctic is definitely the latter type, but despite its very modern styling and capabilities it is still definitely a field watch. The basics are all here, from an ultra-legible dial with Arabic numerals at all hours, to high-visibility hands, a large and easy to use crown and a strong lume. This watch is quite a bit larger than most true field watches at a normal sounding 40mm diameter (it wears a lot larger) to the 14mm thickness, which is at least 2mm more than most field watches. Those large dimensions are in part because this watch is 200 meter water resistant, which is two to four times what you get in most field watches, and it has boxed and domed sapphire crystal, which gives the modern case a vintage vibe. The movement, a Seiko NH-38 is a solid budget grade movement that is absolutely appropriate for a watch in this price range, but its thickness shows here. I don’t know if Boldr regulates these as factory NH-38 movements have very underwhelming accuracy of between -20 and +40 seconds per day, but my watch arrived running a very good +3 to +10 seconds per day, which is far better than I expected for this movement or at this price range. The star of the show here, and the reason I bought this watch is the dial. Normally I prefer my watches to be smaller and thinner, but one look at the pictures of this dial and I just had to have it. Boldr calls it Petrol Blue, but to my eyes it looks like the beautiful crystal clear turquoise water at the beaches of Cancun, Mexico, only at night. It is dark, mysterious and beautiful, with an amazing degrade finish that gets darker, almost black as you move to the edge. Many people dislike “fauxtina” or aged-look lume material, but personally I see it as just a color choice, rather than an attempt to make a new watch look old. The brownish lume material looks especially nice next to the petrol blue dial, so to me it is just a very nice color pairing. That lume is also quite strong, again far better than I expected. This is, by far, the least expensive watch I own. When not on my wrist, it sits next to far more expensive watches from brands like Christopher Ward, Vertex, Pinion, CWC and even Rolex. While it is nowhere near the level of fit and finish of a Rolex, it compares far better to the others than it has any right to, and get about equal wrist time. This the ultimate daily ****** watch. I do wish it was a 38mm case and 12mm thick, but those dimensions even with only 100 meter water resistance would likely triple the price and reduce the appeal to the market at large. Buy one.
